Sunday Activities

This morning Ethan and I went to his Daddys house to hang out for awhile. Ethan finally got to meet one of Jeremys "friends" (I use that word lightly since the man hadnt laid eyes on him until yesterday.) I think things are going to be okay for all of us, I really do. I know everyone thinks I'm nuts for even speaking to Jeremy, but I mean I thought I was nuts when I quit my job to stay at home and thats working out great for me!!!

After our visit there we went to the hospital to visit Heather (and bring her a frosty-yum!). She continues to look better and better every day!!! Her PT is going well, which is very very exciting!!!! ;-)

Then we went home and relaxed with family. It was a pretty standard Sunday for us!!!

2 Weeks Worth Of Updating

So I am very very behind on updating my blog. Each day I say I will do it later or tomorrow and the next thing I know ,2 weeks have passed!! I need this blog to help me improve on my horrible procrastinating!!

So alot has happened since my last post (of course). I continue to spend every day with Ethan, taking him to the park or the library or to hang out with family and friends . We continue to have an absolute blast. The other day at the library, he was an absolute terror. He wouldnt sit down and took one of the ladies keys and threw them across the room. Yes, I was mortified!!! It didnt help when he scrunched up his nose and smiled at me. Made me forget how mortified I was!! Ethan has also had many bruises, bumps, and scrapes. He has a horrible blister on his hand. Today he knocked the table over and left a mark on his cheek. Later he fell into the same table and now has marks in the corner of his eye. Yesterday he got a hold of the powder out of the bathroom and spilled it everywhere. My angel was covered from head to toe!!! Little adventures from my demon!

Last weekend a friend of mine was in a bad car accident. A man ran a red light and hit her in the drivers side. God was definately watching over her, first she didnt have either of her kids in the car with her, which is rare, and second, right before the accident happened her window got stuck down so when she got hit, the window didnt shatter everywhere. As a result, she has one tiny mark on her face and thats it. I was telling her dad at her sons baseball game last week, she is very independent-definately the most independent, strong willed person I have ever met. This accident is a bump in her road, definately not a road block!!! Get well soon, friend!!! I cant wait to help out and hang out!!!! My calendar is ready for some activity planning!!

My nephew turned one. That was huge for me. I can not believe he's one. The party was fun, decorated in ducks. Joshua did NOT want to eat his cake. Ethan was into everything!! Great family fun!!!

That same night, Missy and I went to a Sex In The City Party. Felt kind of weird wearing a dress to go out in. We werent at the party very long. Way too many college kids crammed into a small space. It was not nearly as much fun as I had anticipated. So Missy and I changed clothes in the parking lot and went downtown, which also sucked. After walking around for about an hour we decided to go home.

My Dad also turned 50 in the last 2 weeks!!! We had his birthday party today, but I could not wait that long to give him his birthday present (a grill) so I gave it to him yesterday. Ethan gave him all the grill utensils. Trisha got him a grill cover. My brother got him some chairs for fishing (their favorite weekend hobby). My uncle and aunt got him an outdoor gazeebo thing for barbeques. My cousin got him a razor. And my mom (God love her) got him a 32 inch flat screen tv. He cried when he opened it, which caused everyone (but Trisha) to tear up. I just love my daddy!!!!

Went to Carsons baseball game. He got the game ball because he is AWESOME at ball!! That game he had 2 doubles and a triple and a bajillion outs!!

Umm what else has happened in the last 2 weeks.....Trisha had her powder puff game yesterday. They lost real real real bad, but she played good!!!

I bought 3 pairs of shoes-in the same day!!! I only spent $35 dollars. I was excited!!!

I found the exact toy box I want for Ethans room. I have to get it tomorrow.

I am pretty sure there is more, but these must be the highlights. I will post pics asap.

Ethans Day Of Culture

Thurdays are definately going to be one of my favorite days as a stay at home mom because the library offers a story time for kids!!! I was very very excited to take Ethan to his first library adventure! Of course we got up just in time to get ready and go. When we walked in, the kids were starting to sing a song that involved doing movements like "clapping your hands" or "nodding your head." Ethan sat on my lap and we played along. Today must have been our lucky day because the 2 books that were read were about ducks-which Ethan loves!!! They sang lots of songs and there was alot of interaction between the kids and the storyteller. Pretty quickly after we got there my "grown" son decided he didnt want to sit on my lap anymore and began venturing off to some kids who were parked in front of the room. He was very friendly with everyone. At the end of the story time, all the kids traced their hands and colored them to make tulips for a board in the room. Ethan didnt seem to mind me tracing his hand (I should have taken our artwork to save!!). We made several friends and will most definately be returning to the library next week!!

As if that wasnt enough of a learning experience for Ethan, tonight was also the talent show for the elementary school students. Ethan was going to now get some culture in singing and dancing and performing!!!! Once again my mommy excitedness kicked in!! At first, Ethan had his elbows up (thats how he dances). Then he became a little restless and finally, halfway through the show, he fell asleep!!! He missed some really amazing kids!!! The show made me want a girl so I can enroll her in some sort of dance class. The girls who tap danced and clogged were my favorites!!!! Maybe Ethan will want to take up playing the guitar. Great great job organizing the talent show Heather!!!! I dont think there was anyone who left that auditorium that wasnt pleased with every performance!!!

Date Night

Today was such a fun day!! This morning Jeremy and I took Ethan to Cleveland Park. Ethan had a blast. He made a new friend and loved chasing all the kids around. As usual, I loved watching Ethan run around the park and make new little friends.
Then once a week Ashley and I have "date night" to ensure we get to spend time together in our crazy hectic lives. We usually hang out at each others houses and do dinner and let our kids play. Tonight we went to Brookwood Park and invited company-grandma and grandpa as well at Heather, Carson, and Ella. We ate pizza and played on the playground. The kids appeared to love playing baseball. Everyone had alot of fun. I spend all week waiting for "date night." It is always so much fun!!!

I Fell In Love.....

.......first thing this morning when Ethan rolled over in the bed, put his hand on the side of my face, and fell back asleep holding me.....I love sweet baby moments like this!!!!!

Unfortunately, the day became not so great when my darling child fell and hit his face, causing a huge bruise. He cried for about 3 seconds, the fall scared me way more than it hurt him (thank goodness)!!! Here is his battle wound:

Just Another Manic Monday

Ethan and I ran errands today with mom. The highlight was probably when I got the zoo pics back and bought a scrapbook. Geez, I'm become dorkier and dorkier by the day!!! I have no idea how to make a scrapbook, I'm just gonna wing it, put pics together on colored paper and add the cut-outs as I choose!!! When we got home, my dad was off work and wanted to go to Lyman to look at a car dealership that claimed they had 80% Kias (which is what my mom wants). So we haul our tushies all the way down there to find.....a junky car lot with big slobby guys who I think were mechanics and a man in a suit showing my dad the junky cars. My mom and I sat in the car laughing. There were NO Kias in the whole stinking lot!! When my dad got in the car I had to point out that a place that lets fat guys where cut off shirts is not a reliable business and my mom said she absolutely would not be purchasing a car from there. Then I requested dinner because the trip was a waste. We ate at Waffle House-yummy!!! Trisha was at Carowinds so she missed this whole disasterous trip!! Guess the car buying will go a little longer than anticipated for my parents!!

Weekend Recap

So Ethan and I had a really good weekend. Spent Saturday and Sunday with Jeremy, trying to act like a non-dysfunctional family. We went to eat and to Toys R Us and mostly hung out at the house, playing with Ethan. Saturday night Ethan and I went to dinner at Wades with my friend from Forest City, Dana. I was super excited to see her. In line waiting to get in, Ethan jumped into a mans arms and laid his head on his chest. It was really weird since Ethan usually doesnt like strangers. I'm going to go with babies have great instincts and somehow knew this man was a great guy. Probably spends his days helping old ladies cross the street or something!!!

Sunday we spent alot of time outside. Ethan tried to make friends with the girl across the street, but she had strep throat and couldnt come out to play. Sunday night my angel brought his sick girlfriend, Ella, a rose and get well balloon. Then he proceeded to push her around in her car!!! He loves going to Heathers!!!! We always have fun there!!!

PS, today is my best friend in the whole wide world since birth's birthday!!!! Here we are last time he was here!!

Our Zoo Trip

What a great day we had today!!!! Trish, Ethan, Heather, Carson, Ella, Cassie, and I all went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia. I think the adults were just as excited as the kids!!! After a day of checking out lions, and penguins, and birds, and reptiles, and bears, and giraffes, etc. the kids rode the merry-go-round. Poor Ella was scared and cried, Ethan seemed to love it. Then of course we had to let the kids play in the playground! Ethan kept running back to the merry-go-round. Sometimes he thinks he's so grown!!! Then we had to go to the gift shop. What else would Ethan get but a stuffed monkey??!!! After the zoo, the adults needed a trip to the Columbiana Mall even though Carson claimed he and his mom"had enough stuff at their house!" It was okay, he got to eat Chic-Fil-A!!! And I finally got some holey jeans for cheap!! Finally it was time to go home. The day was perfect in Columbia, even though Trish and I waited a long time for the sun Heather read about on weather.com to come out!! On the way home it rained horribly. Made it perfect to go to sleep at the end of a fun fun day!!

Day 2 Of Being SAHM

Today started off sort of slow. Cassie spent the night with Ethan and I. When he woke up he looked at her, then me, then her, then me before finally deciding to flop back down on her and let her rub his back. He can be so sweet in the mornings!! After playing we went to Grandmas. When he fell asleep Cassie and I went to the track where I could only go a mile before the legs became jello. Its okay, day 1 of exercise complete!!! Then we went to pick Trisha up from Heathers. Heres where I say "Sorry I didnt bring Ellas boyfriend, I didnt think we'd stay that long and he was sleeping!!!" Carson and Ella are absolutely precious!! Plus Heather and I figured out how to take pics where our faces dont look fat (though we look super funny!!!) I can not wait until Friday when we load up all our little angels and take them to the zoo!!! We ended the day with family dinner at O'Charleys. Yum yum super good, even though we had the annoying waitress. This SAHM thing may just be okay after all!!!

My First Day As A SAHM

Today was my first day as a stay at home mom. Of course the day started out cold, but it ended beautifully. I really wanted to take Ethan to the park or something, guess I have the next 4 years to fit that in!! I didnt do much, played with Ethan, went to the tanning bed, and of course Tuesday night "date night" at Ashleys with her kids (always fun). Plus my 10 year old cousin is spending the night with us, which makes me happy because I feel like I never see her!!! Hopefully tomorrow will have nice weather!!!
