My Last Day Of Work

So today was my last day of work after working with mentally ill adults for the past 3 years. I really didnt have time to be sad-my phone was ringing ridiculously, clients were coming in to see me unexpectedly, authorizations had to be completed, notes had to be written, staff wanted to talk, etc.-reasons to remind me that leaving was definately the right decision!!!! Tomorrow I start my journey of being a stay at home mom!!!!!!!!

Ethans Little Success Of The Day

Today was a boring day. The weather was chilly, which did not make for any outside play. Ethan and I did some housework. I washed the dishes while he pushed the mop across the floor. We took 3 naps, that was nice. We played in his room and at Grandmas house. It was relaxing. Tonight I was eating chips and of course feeding his royal highness the dip. And then it happened. He put his leg up on the couch and pulled himself up, right into my lap!!!!! I could have cried!!!!! Then he just laid there. So sweet!!!!! I love when he does new things!!!! Makes my mommy heart so proud!!!

7 Glasses Of Wine Later....

Yesterday one of my friends, who I've known for about 14 years, got married. Of course I was there (with Trish by my side). Her wedding and reception were both at Converse College. The wedding was simple-sweet vows, a solo sung in some language not english, a beautiful bouqet in front for the grandparents, and the unity candle. It was perfect for the bride and groom. My friend looked absolutely beautiful in her dress and the bridesmaids had pretty black bridesmaid dresses. After the wedding everyone went downstairs for the reception. Glass 1 of wine. We ended up sitting with one of the bridesmaids parents (who had drank alot!) and the president of Mt. Olive Pickles and his wife. While sitting the staff floated around refilling glasses. The bride and groom did all their dances with each other and their moms. Glass 2 of wine. My friend was mingling by our table so I got up to say hi. I did great, didnt cry at all-until we hugged. I was just so happy for her (the wine probably didnt help!!) Salads were served-simple yet delicious. Glass 3 of wine. Then dinner was then served. Yum yum yum spinach and cheese stuffed chicken, roasted potatoes, and asparagus. It was so good Trish ate the rest of my chicken, couldnt leave a drop on the plate!! Glasses 4 and 5 of wine. They cut the cake and then the dancing began. Oh my goodness, so much fun!!!! Little chicken dance, electric slide, shagging music, booty music....fun fun times!!!! Glass 6 of wine. By now Trish is wanting to go out with a friend, so I ask her to let me have one more glass. Glass 7 of wine, which by the way was the last glass of wine they had!!! Yep, a little tipsy I was!!!! But hey, we had been at the reception for 3 hours!!! I was celebrating my childhood friends beginning of a great new life to the perfect man!!! So then we said our goodbyes to the entire family. Was the night over?? NOOOOO because outside right in front of our car was a fountain that I just HAD to have a pic in front of!!!!!! Now I think about it and I wonder, A-Will I ever get married?, B-Could I ever see myself with the same man "til death do us part," and C-Will my wedding be as perfect for me and my groom as it was for my friends?? 7 Glasses of wine sure does leave lots of room for thoughts........

My First Blog

I have finally given in to Trisha and Heather and have decided to try out this site. I am extremly addicted to Myspace and Cafemom and am not quite sure I have time for another addiction, but I'll give it a shot!! Hmmm, what to write? I suppose I can write about how last Saturday Ethan decided to eat not 1, not 2, but 3 dandelions in the yard! Or how yesterday he learned how to take his own diaper off and ran around the house completely naked. Or how one of those times he had taken his diaper off he had already pooped-that was very disgusting. Or I can brag about how he laid in my lap earlier so I could rub his back. Those are my favorite moments!!! Yes, maybe I will decide to be a "blogger" and write all of Ethan's successes (as well as my own, cause being a Mommy sure is a growing process!!) Goodnight for now!!!
